Hand Job: A Catalog of Type, by Michael Perry

and Handwritten: Expressive Lettering in the Digital Age, by Steven Heller, Mirko Ilic

Ray Fenwick is a Canadian illustrator/artist/designer. He gained attention as the creator of Hall of Best Knowledge, a hand lettered year long running typographic comic. In HBK a nameless author imparts pearls of wisdom which provoke thought and snorts of milk up your nose and revel something of it’s mysterious author with each lesson imparted. Compulsively lettered and illuminated with all manner of calligraphic ornamentation and fallderall, Hall of Best Knowledge, and it’s obsessiveness is also a book from Fantagraphics. Here is a link to Ray’s site.
